I have decided to focus on the power of positive thinking.

Today the sun came out and the wind was blowing just enough to start drying things out, and help counteract the “steam bath effect” as all that water evaporated. The weather forecast is not too optimistic, with possible (or probable) rain on and off for the next few days, and I can feel in the air that the weather isn’t too stable. It has that feeling of storms coming.

But I am not even going to think about it. I am going to focus on the sunshine that we have now and not the rain that is on its way back.

Yeah, that sounds like a plan…

I have been getting some stuff done today, despite being really tired and getting out of breath easily. I have been slowly knocking off the piles of laundry, and opened the basement windows to try and dry out the puddles. Opened up the garage door and the breezeway windows, too. To get all that dampness out.

I have also been getting my bedroom ready for painting. I have most of the wood trim taped off, and just have to get the dropclots on the floors now. Then I have some prep work on the walls – spackling and fixing some cracks and places where the paint is peeling a bit. I will probably put the primer coat on the ceiling before I start prepping the walls, since my ceiling will be getting 3 coats of paint. this way I can work on the walls while I wait for the paint to dry on the ceiling.

I took “before” pictures facing the 4 corners of the room, for a panoramic effect. The house is oriented with the corners facing the compass directions so I have named these pictures accordingly:

    North   East

    South     West

I will post updates as the transformation process happens. It should be interesting to see.

Today’s new background is one of my own designs, available on my other site:

  • I kinda like the imprint of furniture on the walls… Hm! Ghosts of Furniture Past…

When my parents re-wallpapered one of the bedrooms some years ago, the underlaying wallpaper turned out to have quite some doodles I made as a 5-year old… Including my name written more than a few times – all backwards oddly enough…

Curious whether you’ll bump into surprises…

Heh, you don’t seem to be able to photograph anything without that mutt forcing itself in the frame, can you?

  • From the pics it looks like you have the best light from the North.  That is a very true light.  Cool light. Excellent for an artist’s studio.  Nice background
