Just in case you think I am exaggerating, I heard the weatherman on the local news last night stating this fact:
Of the 23 weekends we have had so far this year, 18 of them had either rain or snow.
That’s only 5 sunny weekends so far in 2003!
Grrrrr!

It took me years, after leaving the UK, to enjoy rain. When the tourists come to the Caribbean and complain about the rain I feel a bit sorry for them. It is very monsoon like, but soon over, although it can do it six times a day in the winter (tourist season!) How do they think the islands keep so greenand lush? People equate holidays with sunshine and a Mediterranean climate, but the tropics just isn’t like that.
