    cold + rainy = zzzzzzzz...

Today I have been doing my best impersonation of a slug.

Or a slorg, for those of you who are familiar with Neopets

Last week I got a brand new set of flannel sheets for my bed. After washing them and fluffing them up in the dryer* a couple of days ago, I put them on my bed with my usual spritz of lavender-scented linen water.

*always a good thing to do with new sheets or towels before using them -- it removes any residual dyes or chemicals that can irritate sensitive skin, plus it makes them so soft and fluffy

Well, the problem with these new sheets, is that they are just too comfy. They seem to know my name, too. I try to get out of bed on days like today, but I just keep hearing them calling me. Like the song of the legendary Sirens, it is just impossible to resist. So today, I gave in. Spent most of the day snuggled up in that nice cozy bed, ignoring the cold rain outdoors and the chores all around me.

Oh well, I guess after all the hard work I have been doing outdoors lately, I needed a nice long rest. I feel much better now, but hungry. Dinner is simmering on the stove, the kitchen is cleaned up, all the animals are fed, and Bernie is still not home from work. Poor guy is doing a 12-hour day again today, it seems. Not the ideal weather for a mailman, either. Makes me feel guilty for spending the day like a slug (or slorg) in bed.

    Well, almost.

After all, I made his dinner, that's something, right?

  • Snuggling down in a comfy bed does sound very inviting...however I am still trying to get us reinstated in our cottage.  Still more unpacking yet to do

  • I LOVE FLANNEL SHEETS ... THEY'RE SO COMFORTABLE !!!

IT'S GOOD TO SLUG AROUND SOMETIMES ...

  • slorg!! That reminds me, I need to go feed my Neo-critters.

Hope you are all having a great day!

  • *finished writing project...returning to REAL writing project! blogging!*

I just finished my NaNo novel, entered The Moon Lodge...and saw two inches of snow outside when I last put the dogs out...

I think your idea is a great one!

    Peace and Love...GFW

  • Sounds like your flannel sheets might be the cousins of my jersey sheets. They often try to keep in bed! The flannel is too hot for me but the jersey is JUST right! We all need days like that...besides you have been working so hard on getting ready for winter! Happy Saturday!---Jodi

  • Ah, yes. I know those sheets. They are irresistable.

  • Yeah, what's that about - today temperature had dropped significantly and I was surprised by hail...
Am wearing 2 t-shirts and 2 sweaters, not to mention the thermo-socks.

Wanted to buy a new duvet this week, but the department store I was at had this route-sign, "bedstuff - basement" and there was no basement!... I'll do with the old duvet, and use an assortiment of other cloth-stuff as extra warmth...

  • THANKS!!!    You are so right about the music and dancing (even if it does make my cat give me that "she's lost it" look - lol).

Flannel sheets - like chocolate for the body.

  • mmm i'm real hungry now!

  • I wish I could stay in bed all day.  I have tried it, but it doesn't work for me.  Let me know how it is best accomplished even with those kind of sheets.
