    The trees were bare,

    but Spring was near…

Things are getting back to normal here. I am finally done with all the paperwork connected with income taxes and stuff, and we had our annual appointment to get the taxes done. So that is a HUGE load off my shoulders and mind. Now I just need to concentrate on getting a LOT more books listed on eBay so I can increase my income to a reasonable level.

I am still not finding much free time for blogs or emails, and hope my friends understand this and don’t think I am avoiding them.

I shall be back soon, frittering away my time online, rambling away here at Xanga, but for now I am just going to leave a pretty thing to keep my place. I was listening to this song today, and it just seems to fit the time of year so well…

The hillside was a patchwork quilt
    Neatly stitched with tidy hedge
    And crumbling grey stone wall.
The trees were bare, but Spring was near
To conjure up its endless strings
    Of green magic handkerchieves.

Could you only see what I’ve seen,
You would surely know what I mean,
I think I must have caught a glimpse of heaven.

A string of diamonds formed a stream
That tumbled down the daunting cliff
    To sparklebright on the beach.

New born lambs that sweetly played,
    Speckled eggs all newly laid,
But for you I would have stayed,
I think I must have caught a glimpse of heaven.

  • Just stopping by to say hi!

  • Oooh, I love those lyrics!! I want full-on spring, dangit! I thought it was here, and then it got all icky and cold the last couple of days. I really want it to be nice this weekend as we’ll have a whole house full of people on Saturday and then Sunday Scott and I are planning to spend time together (hopefully outdoors) for our anniversary.

  • Nice to hear from you…seems like time gets more precious daily Nancy

    I really like this line…

I’m one of those people who fret about taxes so much, I have to do them the minute I have all my stuff done, or I go bonkers thinking about it.  (I usually have my taxes done by Feb. 2.)

Now you can concentrate on more important things…like all that you’ll do between now and next year’s taxes. *smile*

  • The weather is doing strange things here. A week ago it was freezing -10 in the night, this last tuesday people were walking around in t-shirts!…
At the moment it’s back to wetness again….

In my parents’ garden all the spring flowers have sprung up, so spring is definitely near!…

Your absense is forgiven – Financial worries are very bad. They come second after health worries. And you did manage to pop by at my site… want to thank you for appreciating the family pics blog! :)

  • it’s sad but true…I find no other way to describe time on the computer but as “fritter”, as much as I enjoy it, it’s frittering. Hope you are well my dear !
