The big day is here!
At 3:00 PM EST, My brother Skip, My husband Bernie and I, along with Lawyer A and Lawyer B, will be converging upon our local bank’s mortgage department for the official closing on the house!
In honour of this auspicious occasion, I would like to tell you a little story:
One afternoon a Frog walked into a bank.
He was carrying a small bag.
He went to the Customer Service Department and waited for the next
Loan Officer….
The Loan Officer said to the Frog, “Hello, My name is Patricia Wack. How may I help you today?”
to which the Frog
responded,
“Hi! My name is Kermit Jagger and I would like a Loan.”
The Loan Officer looked the Frog up and down and said,
“That’s ridiculous, I can’t give you a Loan, you’re a Frog!
Beside that, what could you possibly have for collateral? “
The Frog reached into the small bag he was carrying and handed the
Loan Officer a
Little Ceramic Elephant.
“Here, I have this“, he said, smiling a big froggy smile.
Well, that was about all the Loan Officer could handle.
She asked the Frog to excuse her for a moment and left the office to go talk to the Bank Manager.
When she got to the Bank Manager’s office, she frantically told him her story…
“I have been having a long and aggravating day, and then to top it off this Frog comes into my office wanting a Loan, he says his name is Kermit Jagger, and when I asked him what he had for collateral, all he did was give me this! “
“I am at wits end here! What should I do about his request? And for crying out loud, what is this thing? “
After she was finished ranting and raving, the Bank Manager calmly said …..
