Enough of this #$%^&*#%!!! rain already!!

I just can’t take many more of these icky days!! I am getting sooo frustrated about not getting anything finished, but I haven’t got the energy to do anything about it. The dampness is in everything. I don’t even want to start painting indoors because I know it would take so long to dry and I can’t open the windows and air the smell of the paint out either. And I really don’t want to have a damp house smelling of paint for days…

The laundry is piling up, but my laundry room is in my basement, where the water is seeping up through the floor. I don’t feel like wading through puddles to do laundry and beside, I never know if the next downpour will be too much for the pump to handle and a major flood could start at any time.

The garage project is out of the question, it is even colder and damper out there than in the house. Ditto for working on the breezeway.

My flowerbeds are filling up with weeds, and I haven’t been able to get to the one that needs to be finished.

Completing the outdoor house painting I started in the fall, before the long cold winter interfered, seems like the impossible dream.

Seems like the only thing this weather is good for is the lawns. They are growing nice and green and tall….

AAAARGH!!! By the time it gets dry enough to mow it will be up to my knees again!

I want to just go back to bed and stay there until the sun comes out.

Tonight I asked Bernie if he thought that Noah felt like this.

Well, I sure hope there is something good on cable. Last night I watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on Pay-Per-View. It was fun. Didn’t seem as involved as the first one, probably because there was less time spent on introducing the characters. I absolutely adore Rubeus Hagrid. I want to adopt him as a favorite uncle.

I also watched another movie late last night on cable. See the link below. It was a real visual treat, the 19th century Cuban settings and costumes combined with the double delight of Angelina Jolie (yum!) and Antonio Banderas (yum again!) and some really artful cinematography and editing. Quite an engrossing plot, too.

  • Well, THAT is what you do when it’s too wet outside to do anything else… Call it an “act of God” and stay in house and watch movies!…

Haven’t seen any of the Harry Potters yet – read the book and thought it was disappointing. And in the previews, Harry comes across as such a twat!

Angelina Jolie – Well, that’s a whole different story! Yum indeed!…

  • Oh my God, you’re blog is leaking!  And, no, I will not tease you with a comment about ‘liquid sunshine’.

  • (hm…wondering why I always have to ~click here~ because your coment box isn’t working)

When it rains like that (if I can even remember what that is like *sigh*), I either sleep…the animals love that!…read…I order tons of books, then spend so much time on the pc, I forget I own them!…go through all those magazines I keep around, for just such a day, and clip all the cool articles out, and try to arrange them in some kind of order in another book (one I made just for such a thing…got a whole bunch of dieting and exercise junk, for the days I obsess about that stuff!)…rearrange the stuff in the kitchen or bathroom cabinets…

When you grow up in Louisiana…where Mom says the only two seasons are Hot and Wet…you learn to find stuff, to keep from going crazy.

Some people put money away, for rainy days…I put away ideas…now I am overloaded with ideas, and still no rain!!! (Even in the mountains, in NM!!)

Good luck, chin up, and find your scissors and glue!

    Peace! GFW

  • Amen sister! I am borrowing your opening statement for my blog — with proper acknowledgement of course. I have mushrooms growing in my mulch beds. If I were into drugs, I’d really be having a great time! I swear that one mushroom I saw this morning was so big the catapillar from Alice in Wonderland could have sat on it with his hookah! I’m just so sick of it.

  • I love the rain!  It pours down and the ghuts fill, and there are waterfalls and landslides and in the evening all the froglets and other noisy creatures will go mad for joy.

I didn’t use to feel like this when I lived in the UK.

I haven’t been ignoring you, I couldn’t get to your site for days and days.  (You aren’t on my sub list, cos you are in my Favourites, hehehe)

  • Lots of rain makes me think of staying in bed (with my sweetie).  Good excuse, can’t do anything anyway
