Since when is there a
Monsoon Season
in New Jersey???!!!!
Rain, rain go away, come again some other day…
Not much going on here today. I have been cleaning up the woodwork and hardwood floor in the bedroom with Murphy’s Oil Soap (love that stuff!) and moving in a little bit of the furnishings. Yesterday I got some more great fabric (and some of it was even on sale!) I have decided to put everything into the room and take the pieces out that I plan on working on (refinishing, re-upholstering, etc) one piece at a time as I get around to doing them. I really can’t spend much more time concentrating solely on this project, there are other parts of the house (and yard) screaming for my attention too.
Now we are getting ready to go to the Mr. Trenton bodybuilding championship… the big muscle guy event of the year for this area. Several of the guys who Bernie works out with are competing, including one in the “over 40″ division. Gotta give those older guys lots of credit! The owner of the gym where he works out, “Man’s World” (no kidding, that’s what it is called) a former competitive bodybuilder and title holder, runs this event every year. It’s fun to go and watch them compete. I admire the dedication and hard work these guys (and gals too!) put into their physiques. And of course I really appreciate the fine physiques
At intermission they usually have some famous strongman doing “feats of strength”, like lifting cars or beding metal rods and stuff. The audience is a lot of fun to watch too, as they cheer their buddies on.
Too bad I can’t bring a few of those guys home to help move the rest of the furniture…
Oh well, bye for now!
have a great weekend!
Update: just got back from the bodybuilding thingy, and I was mistaken. We just call it Mr. Trenton, because that used to be the name of the title they were competing for. It is technically the NPC Trenton Bodybuilding Competition. No big deal, but in case anyone is a stickler for facts and details
I felt bad for a lot of the competitors. The enrollment this year was about half what it has been in previous years, and some categories (or divisions or whatever they call them) had only one person in them. And very low attendance from spectators, too. I tried to make as much noise as possible for them…
No “feats of strength” in the intermission this time, but lots of guest posers to entertain us, including female bodybuilder/wrestler/boxer Nicole Bass (who has the voice of a man, hmmm?)
And just in case I was not clear earlier, the musclebound bodybuilder physique is not my personal preference, I like much leaner physiques — like swimmers, dancers, some gymnasts and figure skaters (Kurt Browning has the cutest butt in all of men’s sports, IMHO) However, I can appreciate a very muscular physique in a more abstract sense, as one does a work of art they would admire as a masterpiece but not necessarily what they would want to hang on their walls.
And events like this sure help to break up the monotony of rainy days, rainy days and more rainy days!

Hmmm… Weather changing between heavy rain/thunder & bloody hot here aswell…
There’s one thing I find more ugly than overly muscled (think condom filled with nuts) men, it’s overly muscled women…
Nothing against a bit of muscle on a girl (yum, actually), but this is ridiculous:…

(and looking at the face, I’m NOT buying that she’s not on steroids… actually, I saw her in a documentary recently, and she also has a a voice like gravel…)
This post of yours has come up twice
Xanga does that sometimes.
I don’t admire muscle-bound men at all, but hey, its Sat. night and I’m not in a picky mood
Yikes, that is usually what Washington is like in June–you’ve got our weather!! It has been friggin’ hot here–I’m visualizing the heat heading your way . . . .
Yeah, I prefer a racehorse type body too.
