The Dog Days of summer are definitely here!

Hot, humid, just plain icky. Today it rained on and off, and that just added to the humidity.
This is good weather for sitting inside the house with the airconditioning on, and that is what I have been doing, mostly. Reupholstering those kitchen chair cushions was a good choice for this week, because it mostly involves sitting with the cushion nin my lap, pulling on fabric, and squeezing the staple gun. I should have such a strong grip when I am done!
I am not, however, looking forward to cleaning, polishing, prepping and painting metal chair frames. But at least I can do some of it with Scotchbrite scouring pads and the hose out on the patio. The next best thing to working with airconditioning when its hot, is working with a hose and lots of cold water. Maybe I will get around to washing the family vehicles this week, too.

Got the lawnmower back from the shop today. Now I don’t have an excuse.
Well, maybe I will if it rains again…
Yesterday I got a whole lot of new books to sell. About 22 new titles. And many of them are home decor, refinishing, and decorative arts books. A little more interesting to me to write up the auction descriptions for than the sports autographs, stamp collector and antique price guide books.
It will probably take me a few weeks before I get them all listed and up for auction. Hopefully I will get a few started with next weeks auctions (My book auctions begin and end on Mondays) I try to do about 5-10 new listings a week when I have new titles to list. At this rate, I will be back to nearly full-time with my eBay auctions by the end of September when eBay traffic usually picks up.
Not much else going on. Midweek doldrums, I guess.
Pearl is finished with her ear medicine, so I probably will give her a bath tomorrow or Friday, to get the oily stuff out of her fur around her ear. I hope it cured the infection that was making her itch so bad, I hated to see her going crazy scratching at it and whimpering. It was a strange infection though, some kind of yeast probably. Virtually no goo or anything coming out of her ear like a usual dog aear problem. So the vet prescribed a different medication, one that kills bacteris, fungal and yeast infections, and has a steroid in it to calm the irritation. So far, so good…

I should pick your brain, ebay-wise…..
I hope Pearl is feeling better. Give her a :bighug: for me!
I am going to have to check out your books that you just got… Am a freak about reading about that stuff !!!
Hi there: It’s nice to meet you! Thanks so much for stopping by my site. Please feel free to stop by again anytime!
Yes, it’s be a little sticky around here of late as well. Thank heavens for air conditioning!
Good luck in the upcoming auctions…..awww, Pearl is so cute!! I do hope she feels better with this medication.
Enjoy your day!! :)
Cute doggie!

:bighug: Hey lady :star: Ahhh yes it has been warm!! Actually though, it is quite comfortable here in Ohio, we have had some rain and cooler temp.’s the past few days
As for your projects sounds like fun!! I wish you lived closer by so I could come hang out with you and learn about how you do all this creative stuff. I lack the ambition for such projects right now!
As for your little lady, I hope she is feeling better tooo. My old dog used to get the yeast ear infections all the time!! Poor thing, he was miserable itching as well. He had some long ears and I think that helped to cause the problem. The heat and moisture in the air allows for these sorts of infections to occur our vet said. poor pup, his nnever seemed to go fully away, but then he had weimreihner sort of ears.
Your ebay auction sounds like an exciting thing. I have never been on ebay, I am afraid of what I might find that I want— traveling and going to 20 different shows in different cities and states has given me more then enough debt to contend with for now- heheh.
Oh that reminds me!!! 12 days until my next dead show in Columbus, Ohio! whoo hooo!!
Then I am off to Darien in NY, and then Jones Beach for two nights to finish things off, August 9, and 10th. We will be camping on Long Island. I am so excited- It has been at least a decade since I was last to NYC and long Island. What a treat!!! Any chance I may catch you there???? That would be wonderful, I would love to meet you- you seem to be such a kind soul- someone I would love to spend the day with chatting over coffee or tea, and sharing creativity. Anyway… I’ve been bad about keeping up with everyones lives lately… but I promise I will try harder to make the time
Have a wonderful beautiful day. Much love and big hugs**
Peace Love and Light
I wish I was more educated about the whole eBay thing. I’d love to be able to make some money off of it, ya know?
Anyway …
Try to stay cool.
I would like to discuss books with you sometime. Cos I have a new bookshop and know very little about the booktrade, but a bit. Maybe we could swap sources or something.
US shipping AND language lessons… Sorry, we can’t provide that! And that money, for just some artwork and a lot of unreadable text… I would not do it!…
Dutch is quite similar to German indeed… With some basic german knowledge, you should be able to get the gist of dutch texts.
Hope Pearl is really cured now – I imagine giving the medication is also no summercamp – at least, our cats had earmite (?) last year, and had to treat them with a pipet (?) – it’s like giving a cat a bath!…
The eather here – thunder and wet. Hooray!
Pearl is one sweet dog all right… and I know out of experience that administer eardrops to an animal (in my case, Dexter) can be one heck of a job. I hope Pearl didn’t make too tough for you
I too buy remainders. With the standard discount of 40% and the shipping three or four times as much as in the US, I have either to put up my prices (which I don’t want) or bulk out the new books with remainders. Which companies do you buy from? BookDepot?
Don’t like that much humidity
Hope it cools down for you
I know whatcha mean about staying indoors on hot humid days. I wish I could do it when I wanted to but I have to work. I start sweating and do not stop!
I’m thinking of going back on ebay too. I have a TON of Christmas stuff and Halloween stuff to sell, if I can muster up the energy to do it!
