just another rainy day at
adifrentdrumr’s wildlife cafe…
The following pictures were taken out my front window this morning.
We have a new guest to add to the usual menagerie of assorted songbirds, woodpeckers, squirrels, deer, doves, groundhogs, skunks, Canada geese, and Mallard ducks –
Today we were visited by
A wild turkey!!!
scoping out the yard and the bird feeder tree
eating the overflow from a bird feeder
the female Cardinal on the left side of this picture is most likely wondering “who invited you?”
now this is a bird with attitude…
“who you lookin’ at?”

You could about charge an entrance fee for people to visit your zoo…
Has been a while since I saw you here – started to miss ya. (Things have been pretty quiet here on Xanga in total, actually)…
And yes, I too shall update soon!…
Gobble gobble! Check my site for a story about a baby bird in my yard.
Woof to Dolly and Pearl!
How cool is this. It looks like a hen turkey. Lucky you getting to see so many different critters, and right in your front yard! Great photos, thanks for sharing your Audubon adventures.
I’M HUNGRY NOW … WHERE’S MY KNIFE !?!?!?
I USED TO DRINK WILD TURKEY
The other day, Mom and Dad called me and told me they were coming to get me…I “need a break,” they said. Besides my thinking, From What???, I thought, Okay! So, they picked me up and drove to Dairy Queen *Big NO-NO!* and proceeded to the local state park. (It’s Sugarite Canyon State Park, New Mexico, if anyone wants to look it up and see some pretty photos. *wink*) I hadn’t been up there in forever, I think, and the weather was perfect, since it can get pretty chilly, in the higher elevations, this time of year. On the way up, we saw about 4 wild turkeys…what do you call a group of turkeys? *lol* I have no idea or am drawing a complete blank, on that one!
Spring here is a mixture of weather…some cold, snowy days…some beautiful days, with temps in the 70′s, with nights still reaching the freezing mark…windy days, that sound like I should have thought a few more times, before buying a trailer…but nothing settled, yet, which is okay, because then the bugs come back. I have a skunk, for a neighbor, and I do mean the four-legged kind (although my nearest neighbor to the east is about to find my foot up his rear, if he continues to sit outside and gun his engine for a half hour at a time…)
Um…I lost my train of thought…*lol*…
I think I was going to add something about being glad it is nearly time for the deer to return…although I’m not really looking forward to the bears…
*sigh*
Peace and Love…GFW
