Just changing the decor in here a bit.

Not a lot to say today...so here's a song for you...

Long gone the days, of which dreams were made
Naive in the glow of evergreen
Innocent days, of fresh airs and graces
The bruising of hearts, the losing of races.

    Passionate days, remember them well
    The devil-may-care of evergreen
We measured success in the stains on the back seat
Our tongues in your mouths, our hands on your heartbeat.

    Evergreen
    Sweet evergreen
    You are all the love
    There's ever been
    You are all to me
    And more, sweet evergreen.

Gentle the breeze that blows through the trees
    Caressing the leaves of evergreen
We married in haste, young lambs to the slaughter
We weep in the arms of a favourite daughter.

    Evergreen
    Sweet evergreen
    You are all the love
    There's ever been
    You are all to me
    And more, sweet evergreen.

Here in the windchill years of our lives
We dwell in the shade of evergreen
Stirring the last of the slow burning embers
Counting our way through a year of Decembers.

    Evergreen
    Sweet evergreen
    You are all the love
    There's ever been
    You are all to me
    And more, sweet evergreen
    Sweet evergreen
    You are all the love
    There's ever been
    You are all to me
    And more, sweet evergreen.

  • Hi there!

I was looking around your site and I'm really intrigued!! How long have you been a drummer?  I've spent a lot of time with holistic healing groups who use music/percussion as therapy....any thoughts or experiences that way?

I'd love to hear more about your interests!

  •  I just KNEW it was going to be a Strawbs song! I like the bittersweet lyrics & the metaphors. The looking back and the contentment of the present. A bit sad, but very nice.

  • We always need a song to fill the soul

  • RYC;

JOANNIE ... YOU MY KINDA GIRL !!! YOUR HUSBAND IS A LUCKY MAN

  • The background color is about the color of the sky here, but snow is scarce. Some in the morning, rapidly melting into a sad layer of goo.

  • Joanie - the link to my voice; I fixed it earlier today - could you try again? If it doesn't work now, I don't know :(

  • "the windchill years"  how true

  • stay warm hon!

  • Sentimental? Guilty as charged.
But it is a nice song! (And more opportunity to listen to Dutch language, be it a softer variant)...

  • your site looks wondeful...huggs...sassy

  • I like the new look your working on. And I loved the song . With all the cold and snow here - the thought of gentle breezes and evergreens felt good.

  • Are they going to be in concert near you guys this year? Will you get to go and see them? Sounds like a fun band.
